Raise the Region 2018

The First Community Foundation Partnership of Pennsylvania (FCFP) is excited to announce Raise the Region® 2018, an event to help the communities of Columbia, Lycoming, Montour, Northumberland, Snyder, and Union counties support local nonprofit organizations fundraising efforts.  FCFP, in partnership with Blaise Alexander Family Dealerships, will be launching a 30-hour fundraising event starting on Wednesday, March 14, 2018.

Mark your calendar! On Wednesday, March 14th at 6:00 PM through midnight on Thursday, March 15th the public is encouraged to visit and select the participating nonprofit(s) of your choice to support and your gift will be stretched by a generous contribution from Blaise Alexander Family Dealerships.  Your donation(s) can also help raise additional support for the nonprofits selected by qualifying them for monetary prizes.  All gifts are tax deductible and will help make your favorite nonprofits mission possible.

Susquehanna Valley CASA will be participating in this year's event once again, and we ask your continued support of our mission to appoint a highly trained and strong volunteer advocate to be assigned to every abused and neglected child who have survived without their basic needs of safety and security being fulfilled. Our volunteers ensure that the child's needs and wishes are made the utmost priority of the courts by investigating every aspect of the child's life, and then reporting back to the court their findings. Children with a CASA volunteer are released from the child welfare system an average of 7 months earlier, and 95% will not return. They stay in school longer, and more children will graduate and go onto advanced learning. At present we serve 60 children in the counties of Lycoming, Northumberland, Snyder and Union, but over 200 children are waiting for the one, consistent adult in their lives to stand next to them, to help them find their voice, to advocate for their best interests. More than 90% of every dollar donated goes back into recruiting, training and overseeing our phenomenal volunteers, who come to us from all walks of life, all with a passion to assist the child to become a safe, healthy adult who will integrate into society and hopefully offering society their hard-won knowledge and experience. We change the lives of children by helping them to stand up for themselves--one at a time.
